{"id":10805,"date":"2025-05-13T19:50:00","date_gmt":"2025-05-13T23:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lifescivoice.com\/?p=10805"},"modified":"2025-05-13T19:50:00","modified_gmt":"2025-05-13T23:50:00","slug":"eli-lilly-invests-250-million-to-strengthen-ties-with-purdue-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lifescivoice.com\/eli-lilly-invests-250-million-to-strengthen-ties-with-purdue-university\/","title":{"rendered":"Eli Lilly Invests $250 Million to Strengthen Ties with Purdue University"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Eli Lilly is deepening its investment in Indiana by committing up to $250 million over the next eight years to expand its existing collaboration with Purdue University.<br \/>\nAccording to a press release, the enhanced agreement with the Boilermakers will focus on artificial intelligence-driven drug discovery, accelerating clinical trial processes, expediting regulatory approval and manufacturing, and strengthening Indiana\u2019s life sciences workforce.<br \/>\nAs part of the partnership, Purdue researchers will be given workspace on the university\u2019s West Lafayette campus, while also collaborating with Lilly scientists at the company\u2019s facilities in Indianapolis and Lebanon, Indiana.<br \/>\nThe primary goal of the collaboration is to deliver medicines to patients more quickly, integrate emerging science into clinical trials, build a more resilient pharmaceutical supply chain, and boost Indiana\u2019s local economy, according to both partners.<br \/>\n<script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3812572458252831\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script> <ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3812572458252831\" data-ad-slot=\"7669348015\"><\/ins> <script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nLilly CEO David Ricks stated in the release: \u201cAccelerating the delivery of life-changing medicines requires an exceptional talent force and innovation at every step\u2014from discovery through process development and manufacturing. This expanded work with Purdue is exciting, as we aim to leverage both secure advanced technologies and cutting-edge science to lead in the development of next-generation medicines that improve human health.\u201d<br \/>\nRicks, who earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in industrial management from Purdue in 1990, has served on the university\u2019s board of trustees since January 2025.<br \/>\nLilly and Purdue first launched a $52 million, five-year research and development agreement in 2017, which was extended in 2022 with an additional $50 million.
